This is the Commission’s monthly update for March, providing visibility to the media and the public on our key activities and work underway.

As at 11 March, we are conducting 30 preliminary investigations and 35 corruption investigations. Four of our matters are currently before the courts, and since our commencement 11 convictions have been secured as a result of investigations we have commenced or continued.

Operation Myrtleford investigation report

On 11 March, we published the investigation report for Operation Myrtleford, the investigation into the 6 individuals referred by the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme.

The complex investigation, involving the examination of a large volume of material, including evidence obtained by the Royal Commission, documents produced under statutory notices, and evidence from more than 40 witnesses through interviews and hearings, concluded that 2 of the 6 individuals engaged in serious corrupt conduct, and that the remaining 4 did not engage in corrupt conduct as defined by the NACC Act.

The referrals related to specific events during the development, approval and implementation of the Robodebt Scheme in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

The full investigation report, an executive summary, video statement, Q&A and media release are available on our website.
